myHealth Sentinel Pte Ltd (mHS), a Singapore-based company, announced today that it has been selected by Jurong Health Services (JurongHealth) to implement a Medical Device Integration (MDI) solution for its 700-bed Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and 400-bed Jurong Community Hospital, which will open in end 2014 and 2015 respectively.
MDI software is used to integrate the torrent of data produced by the many medical devices within the hospitals (anaesthesia unit, intra-aortic balloon pump, dialysis machines, ventilators, etc) with JurongHealths Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. The automated collection of data improves the timeliness and accuracy of the data within EMR by eliminating transcription errors and time wasted by the traditional practice to manually record measurements onto paper charts and into hospital records thus enabling healthcare staff to spend more time caring for their patients.
